'Mumblin' is a jazz-funk album that features a groove-orientated arrangement of bass/autotune, keys, percussion and drum set. I used the 'Splice Edit' production style of Teo Macro on Bitches Brew - recording long form group improvisation and then cutting it up into the best 3 minutes.

'Mumbling' was recorded over two sessions in August 2023 at Thin Thicket's Bearcave Recording in Youngstown, OH. The compositions - written the night before using iReal pro - featured open ended modal funk improv balanced by a "change-y" change section, to provide some harmonic variation post-jam.

named out of inspiration from the classic Miles Davis albums Cookin, workin, steamin, 'Mumblin' is a wild jazz funk fusion album that sounds like no other!
